Basilian Fathers Missions

The Congregation of St. Basil, commonly known as the Basilian Fathers, has served the Church of Canada and the United States since 1852. In addition to founding universities, colleges, schools and parishes, during the 1930s the Congregation established an apostolate to the Spanish-speaking immigrant people of the United States. This apostolate marked the beginning of the missionary work carried on today by the Basilian Fathers Missions.

Murphy and Launtrie

In the Fall of 1961, in answer to the Papal call for missionaries to Latin America, Basilian Fathers William "Max" Murphy and Frank Launtrie crossed the border and began working in Mexico. Our missions have since spread to Colombia, South America.
